This week has gone by so fast, we’re already more than halfway through an eventful Vacation Bible School! This year’s theme is Thailand, a program that shows the kids the lives of children in another country while at the same time teaching them that God is real and present in both their lives and in the lives of kids just like them around the world. We’ve had so much participation, including our youth group helping out with leading music, games, and skits, and just great organization from Lisa and Soo-Jin and participation from many of the adults at IBC. It has been a tremendous blessing so far to be able to interact with so many kids and be able to share key principles from the Bible with them. So much work went into the prep, the program, and the decorations, and everything has been great so far!
The day starts out with excitement, the kids come in to fanfare and everyone’s ready to start their day! Soo-jin leading the charge…
Pastor Gary kicking off the day by getting the kids pumped up.
Such a fun experience this year to have music by our own youth group, they grow up so fast. Introducing the Ahn-Core aka the Ahn-Trapp family with Bekah, Madison, and Katie leading the singing. They also provided the skit, which was a puppet show this year.
Our pastors provided the lesson times…themes for days 1-3: God is real, God is love, God forgives. And, some running theme with wigs…
Lisa also leads a craft time to talk more about Thailand and illustrate the Bible point. There’s also a snack time where the kids learn and recite the daily memory verse. Plenty to reinforce the lesson of the day!
And, of course…games.
The day ends with some more songs, a video, and some more team spirit!
Much more to come…thank you to all the helpers who provided their time, heart, and creativity to this week!
